About

Hi there! My name's toon, my pronouns are he/him, and I love music and crafting. I've been creating music-related content for about a decade now and I am always trying to pursue a multitude of different creative passions. This page is to provide easy access to all my relevant social media links and all my current commission information. At this time I have timing, mixing, and crochet commissions. Thanks for visiting!

FAQs

Sometimes mixing can be confusing, especially for those not well-versed in the process or jargon. Regardless of your experiences, I'm here to help!I have a document you can click below that explains my personal recording process that you can use as reference. I highlight the importance of being mindful of overlapping vocals and touch on what audio may look like for you when exported.

What is Timing?

Timing is the process of taking a person’s vocal recordings and making adjustments/cuts to it to ensure that all of the words/notes being sung are timed to the instrumental.

What is the difference between basic timing and tight timing?

In the context of my commissions specifically, basic timing is when the vocal files are aligned to ensure phrases/verses start and stop where they are roughly meant to overall. Tight timing is ensuring every word/note is accurate and in time to the reference material/instrumental.

What is the difference between a basic mix and a mix with heavy effects?

Every mix will get the basics of effect implementation such as, but not limited to: EQ, compression, de-essing, reverb, and adjustments such as bass boosting/limiting when applicable. A mix with heavy effects means songs that include things such as, but not limited to: glitching, audio warping/distortion, or the implementation of “radio effects” or other similar effects multiple times in a song (if it’s just once for a short section, that is not considered ‘heavy’).
